Blog 2.0

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Not so very long ago, in a suburb just like this one a woman started a blog.

She was lonely, longing for a little company.

In her desperation to get people to read and comment on her blog she told everybody she knew about it.

Everyone.

Even her mother.

With every post I...hmm...she started worrying about offending people or sending her relatives to an early grave.

The topics became limited. The opinions were stilted.

Blogging just wasn't nearly as fun anymore.

Despite the fact the it grew to over a hundred followers, the bland blog was slowly dying from boredom.

It was time for a new blog.

One my freaking mother will never know about.

One where I can write what I want without over thinking it.

One that I hope will be more fun for everybody involved.

So please, comment and join in on the conversation.

Yes, ma'am! I'm right here with you.

Should I replace your old one on my blogroll, or keep both?

I am so happy to be invited here, to your "secret" blog! Everyone needs a place to let her hair down and simply be herself. :-)

I love it!
I still haven't told anyone IRL about my blog except for the husband.
This gives me good reason to keep it that way!

Hey You! I can understand your inhibitions when you have to bite your tongue (love the new blog name). I'm looking forward to hearing from the unedited you!

Clearly, we were meant to be friends. I mean, we have the same excellent taste in blog templates!

I had to ditch my first blog due to some stupidity and slight stalker issues (And not in the good blogging stalker way.) Although I did not have 100 followers, I was over 40. It was hard for me to go anonymous, but that was the best thing.

My family does know about my current blog though. And occasionally I think about starting something really, really anonymous. How freeing that must be! (Sorry for the epic comment!)

been reading your (new) blog. Enjoyed your writings and sense of humor. I can relate to wanting to have a blog where family doesn't know about it. although I'm very private on my public blog, I still find myself not wanting to write this or that since I know my siblings read it occasionally. Added myself as a follower; looking forward to reading more of what you want to write

That is exactly why no one in my "real life" knows about my blog either. I'm sure it would completely censor my writing. Good for you.
